I am an award-winning French-English literary, visual art and academic translator and translation research consultant.

This year, I curated and edited the collaborative poetry translation collection, 19 Ways of Looking at Awono (Bakwa Books). I was awarded a joint PEN award for my literary translation work (2013) and took third place in the Stephen Spender Prize for poetry translation (2021). Since 2020, I’ve run the ceramics studio, Iremía Pottery, and translate texts across the visual arts.

Please explore my website to find out more about my translation work and writing experience, or get in touch if you would like to commission a translation or consultancy work.

Georgina

“Georgina is an insightful writer, contributing well-researched and thought-provoking articles, often on subjects that have barely been covered elsewhere. Her writing style is engaging and her knowledge of Francophone African poetry, translation and culture is impressive. Georgina is reliable, flexible and a pleasure to work with – I would be very happy to commission her again in future.” Miranda Moore, Editor

The Linguist, Chartered Institute of Linguists
