I am an award-winning French-English literary, visual art and academic translator and translation research consultant.

This year, I curated and edited the collaborative poetry translation collection, 19 Ways of Looking at Awono (Bakwa Books). I was awarded a joint PEN award for my literary translation work (2013) and took third place in the Stephen Spender Prize for poetry translation (2021). Since 2020, I’ve run the ceramics studio, Iremía Pottery, and translate texts across the visual arts.

Please explore my website to find out more about my translation work and writing experience, or get in touch if you would like to commission a translation or consultancy work.

Georgina

“Georgina Collins’ translations of Mame Seck Mbacké were precise and thoughtful, conveying the full complexity of this modernist and multi-layered poet, and giving voice to a poet and a poetics we would not otherwise have access to.” Sasha Dugdale, MPT Editor 2013-17, renowned poet, playwright and translator
